Halden: the whole email program, live.
Seven flows and twelve emails for a subscription supplement brand. Click any email to open the real HTML version, then switch between desktop, phone and dark mode.
Replenishment timing, from the label
The reorder email goes out a few days before the bottle runs out, not on a fixed day.
Send on day 24: 30 days of supply, minus 4 days shipping, minus 2 days of buffer.
How this sample was built
- Brief
- A $6M supplement brand selling one sleep product, mostly one-time orders.
- Problem
- Revenue depends on the second order, but every email went out on fixed days that ignored how long a bottle lasts.
- What we made
- Seven flows: welcome, browse, cart, post-purchase, replenishment timed from the serving count, a subscription save flow for cancel clicks, and winback. Twelve emails coded to work in Gmail, Apple Mail and dark mode.
- Why it works
- Each email has one job, written next to it. Discounts appear only where they change a decision. Every supplement claim carries the FDA footnote.
- What we'd measure
- Second-order rate at day 45, subscription share of new customers, cancel-to-pause saves, revenue per recipient by flow.
- Time to deliver
- 7 to 10 days
Three hooks, twelve ads, one test plan.
Every hook in four formats. Press play on a video and the anatomy bar shows what each second is doing.
- HookPattern break: the word 'not' plus the category they know.
- ReasonWhat's inside, in plain words.
- ProofAmounts on the label, no blend.
- CTAOne action: shop.

Us vs them. Names the alternative the buyer already tried, then gives the one-line reason to switch.
- HookA time on screen: viewers place themselves in it.
- RoutineThree small actions they already do.
- ProductHalden as step three, not the hero.
- CTAShop Halden.

Routine. Sells the habit, not the pill. People keep routines, so they reorder.
- HookA specific, slightly painful moment.
- OfferSubscribe and save 15%, ships every 30 days.
- Risk removalSkip or cancel anytime.
- CTAStart my subscription.

Subscription. Turns the worst moment, an empty bottle at bedtime, into the reason to subscribe.
| Hook | Launch formats | Budget and audience | What decides the winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not melatonin. | Video + feed | $40/day, broad | Hook rate, CPA |
| Your wind-down | Video + story | $40/day, broad | Hold rate, CPA |
| Never run out | Feed + square | Retarget 30 days | Subscription share |
How this sample was built
- Brief
- Launch ads for a sleep supplement that can't make health claims.
- Problem
- Most supplement ads promise sleep outcomes the label can't support, and get rejected or flagged.
- What we made
- Three angles, each in video, feed, square and story. Product shots made from one photo with AI image and video tools, then edited and type-set by hand.
- Why it works
- Each hook makes a different promise the brand can keep: what it isn't, how it fits a routine, and never running out.
- What we'd measure
- Hook rate and hold rate for videos, CPA by hook, and subscription share from the third hook.
- Time to deliver
- 5 days

How this sample was built
- Brief
- A sleep supplement brand wants to know if AI assistants recommend it.
- Problem
- Shoppers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google before they search a store, and most brands have never looked at the answers.
- What we made
- A dated log of real answers to real buyer questions, the brands named in each, and the sites those answers cite.
- Why it works
- It shows the actual answers and sources, not just a score, so the fixes are obvious: get onto the sites the answers cite, and put the facts AI quotes on your own pages.
- What we'd measure
- Share of answers that name the brand, position in the list, and which cited sites mention it, re-tested on day 30.
- Time to deliver
- 5 days
Stockout to restock, with nobody watching.
When a product runs low, the supplier gets a drafted order and the team gets one alert. When it's back, everyone who asked hears first. Failures retry, then tell a person.

How this sample was built
- Brief
- A pet food brand keeps selling out of its best topper and finds out from customers.
- Problem
- Nobody owns the stock check, supplier emails go out late, and restock emails go out days after the product is back.
- What we made
- An n8n workflow on Shopify inventory updates: a drafted supplier order and Slack alert below the reorder point, a Klaviyo back-in-stock event on restock, retries and a human alert on any failure.
- Why it works
- The person still approves every order, but never has to remember to look. The waitlist hears first, while the stock is there.
- What we'd measure
- Days out of stock per SKU, time from restock to first email, and revenue from back-in-stock emails.
- Time to deliver
- 10 days
